I was recently commissioned to do a seashore coastal art illustration in soft pastel for a novel book cover.
Based in South Devon, It's the second novel in the series of whodunit novels, The Erwin Graham Series of murder mysteries, written by novelist and film producer Anthony Hontoir.
This seashore coastal pastel art illustration is built up using soft, hard and medium pastels and pastel pencils. showing a stormy sky and coastal landmark, including a stethoscope left on the beach in the shape of a question mark, giving a clue to the Devon mystery.
As a pastel portrait artist who normally does portraits & pet portraits of dogs, cats, horses, birds, wildlife art and people portraits, it was wonderful to do a pastel art illustration for a novel book cover. I would welcome any pastel art commissions in the future for novel book covers.
